Demi does Rocky... in the same place!

Someone's got the eye of the tiger!
Demi Lovato recently posted this pic from the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, famous for the movie Rocky for the scene where the Sylvester Stallone raises up his arms in triumph. She even tweeted: "Rocky's got nothing on me!!!"

Happy Birthday Nicole Anderson!

Demi Lovato isn't the only one celebrating her B-day this month, her Asian-American counterpart lookalike becomes 20 this month. That girl? Nicole Gale Anderson.

Best known as JONAS' crazed fanatic Macy Misa in JONAS (now Jonas L.A.) and as a recurring character in ABC Family's Make It or Break It, she got what it takes to take the stage and use it for good. Being an experienced gymnast in her helped her in Make It or Break It, and prior to these two projects, she did stints in her homeland by guesting in the now defunct SOP Gigsters and a voice role in the Tagalized dub of Bleach.

Here's to her 20th year of living and we'll expect more cool stuff from her. Happy 20th Nicole Gale!

Colors not used that much in Sentai

Super Sentai also has some colors that weren't always used and usually applied to extra members like:

Battle Fever J's Battle Cossack is the only orange ranger known so far. He was part of the regular roster since there were no additional rangers back where he came from.

Silver was the first color to be not frequently used. The color appeared first in Megaranger's Yuusaku Hayakawa then in Gaoranger's Shirogane, Boukenger's Eiji Takaoka and Go-onger's Mio Suto. Go-onger introduced the first female silver ranger. Did Tommy's conversation in the MMPR movie inspire this?

Although in the PR side, the King Ranger was called the Gold Ranger (even if King Ranger was a black ranger), however the first official gold ranger is Hiruto Suto from Go-onger. The second would be Genta Umemori in Shinkenger.

The first and only purple ranger Retsu Fukami.

Dylan and Cole "Got Milk"!

Dylan
and Cole Sprouse are now featured in Got Milk? ads everywhere, looking totally adorbs pouring milk into each other's cereal bowls.

The ad's tag line? "Double the goodness." Hmmm. Milk might make your bones stronger, but these two are always up to no good. Five seconds after this pic was taken, we bet there was a major food fight, with one of the twins using Lucky Charms as a lethal weapon!

Rumors on Goseiger VS Shinkenger and Movies Wars 2011

MOVIE WARS 2011:

-Kamen Rider Baasu appears. He uses an installation henshin system. Baasu's eyes are not circular, but U shaped, (colored black) and he looks very original, something unlike any other hero before. The lower half of his "U" eyes glow red, and he almost resembles Hakaider, complete with a capsuluar head.

-Sonozaki Fumine (Shroud) and Narumi Soukichi are childhood friends.

-Their partner seems to be played by Tarou Yamamoto (or this could be the character's name)

-"San Dopant" is mentioned, as are Bat and Spider

-The movie will be more serious than comedic, and it seems as though it will bring Akiko to a darker place as well

GOSEIGER VS SHINKENGER:

-The Gedoushuu manipulate ShinkenRed into attacking GoseiKnight. The under control ShinkenRed is known as "Gedou ShinkenRed".

-The New Sentai will appear in the film. The 35th Sentai will be the Decade-for-Sentai, and be a celebratory series. The series will feature the return of old Red Rangers, with the original actors returning, as much as possible.

Should Super Sentai Dub, Sub or Adapt?

It has crossed my mind just recently with Super Sentai (as well as Tokusatsu) for the foreign market. Before Zyuranger was adapted into Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers Season One, Super Sentai was being dubbed into different languages- English, Filipino, French and Latin. To reduce the violence, some scenes deemed inappropriate (like gunshot wounds) were deleted without hiding the fact that the enemy died. The dubbing went until Jetman, which I believe was another choice for what Saban wanted to become Power Rangers.

Haim Saban was interested in dubbing Super Sentai if I'm not wrong. Rumors spread that he actually dubbed Bioman as an entire series but it clicked more with Asia than America. I think so because Hikaru or Pink Five was named Kimberly, a name that his first pink ranger will take soon enough- and both the chick of their teams. If I'm not wrong he felt Super Sentai should just be dubbed and edited but cultural boundaries ARE a problem one must solve.

Because of cultural boundaries, Power Rangers was born instead of Saban dubbing Super Sentai. For some reason, he chose Zyuranger instead of Jetman. Later some American fans discovered the existence of Super Sentai later and some even white ones became fans and were categorized as either they like Sentai more now, still liking Power Rangers more even if they like Super Sentai and they dumped Power Rangers entirely. Some thought that Toei and Saban should have cooperated to dub and edit instead.

Later for some reason, Dekaranger became the very first series to be completely subbed. Fan subs were also born. Fan subs were later created for other series for the English speaking fans. However no more Super Sentai series were dubbed, sadly Filipinos don't see dubbed Sentai anymore :-(. Only Anime left unadapted (but some scenes edited) was ever dubbed from Japan by American voice dubbers. However I'm recently a fan of sub over dub. Some fans think that the cast members are very much like MMPR in terms of personality. I agree but only with Hoji, Jasmine and Tetsu. Rest. IMO- nah. They're likable in their own way.

Lately for Haim Saban after buying Power Rangers back chose to adapt Shinkenger with his own a little more original interpretation presumably to remain American friendly, rather than dub Shinkenger. But then, I hope he'll start dubbing and subbing Sentai soon, that is starting with Shinkenger, at least PR fans will know why Power Rangers exists as well. :-P

Who are Greeds?

Greeds: Kamen Rider OOO's Villains
On the top pic are the Greeds, Kamen Rider OOO's main villains. From your left, we have: Gameru, Cazari, Mezuru and Uva and as we all know, there is one Greed is missing in the group, namely Ankh who would later give the OOO Driver to Hino Eiji.

All of the Greeds are currently incomplete because of the medals were sealed in various places. They also have mysterious belts.

They have two kinds of medals. The one with colors is the Core Medal, it's the core of a Greed's existence. Medals that are silver are known as Cell Medals. These make up their bodies. The Core Medals are like their hearts, souls etc. While Cell Medals are basically like cells in a living thing.

Ankh is a Greed with not that many medals, which caused him to become an arm. This is why he took the body of the policeman. Like all the other Greeds, he's collecting medals. To make up for his lack of power, he uses Eiji. What's different about Ankh is that he is sly and sharp sighted unlike the other Greeds.

When they put a Cell Medal inside a human, a monster called Yummy is created. Their source of power is desire. How the Yummies are, depends on the Greed. For example Uva's main desire for Yummies are money, wealth etc.

Shinkenger's Super and Hyper modes

In Shinkenger there were two battlizers- the Super Mode and the Hyper Mode. Unlike in Power Rangers where only the red ranger used the Super Mode, they all took turns in using like the Acceltector in Boukenger. Sadly, Genta was never able to go super.

Takeru/Shinken Red was the first to use it being the leader which happened in Act 24. With this, he harnessed the power of fire at greater heights to defeat Gozunagumo. Later he needed to be in this mode to use the Mougyu Bazooka without risking himself in Act 38. He was however able to beat Juzo without this since the equipment was with Kaoru that time. Naturally being the leader, he uses it most of the time.

Ryunosuke/Shinken Blue used super mode next as Takeru gave it to him when Takeru had to do battle with Juzo. His first usage was in Act 26 where his water powers were increased to defeat Yumebakura. He also used it in Act 30 against Kugutsukai and the last time he used it was in Act 40.

Chiaki/Shinken Green first used super mode in Act 27 when Abekonbe switched the lives of the others save him and Kotoha/Shinken Yellow. Sadly he only used it once. Is he that underrated?! Sigh I liked him least in this series. He got to use it because Takeru was swapped with a cat statue.

Mako/Shinken Pink was given the Inromaru by Takeru/Shinken Red himself in battle, handed over like a gift (how nice). She used it in this episode even if she wasn't the focus of the episode. In Act 34, she had one VERY BAD ASS moment in this mode against Akumaro which was the last time she got super. If only this gadget will make her a better cook.

Kotoha/Shinken Yellow had to wait until episode 36 for her first time to go super. I kind of think it's a flaw that it took her a LONG time to use it. Again, no series is perfect. XP Her last usage was in episode 41.

There's also the Hyper Mode. They were used rarely:

Takeru/Shinken Red used this during the movie and in Act 31. This was one awesome power but it wasn't overused. Was it really life threatening? In Act 48, Kaoru allowed Chiaki to use this power so she can seal Doukoku which failed.

Genta/Shinken Gold used this during a short special "The Light Samurai's Special Transformation".

Demi gives her family a new house

Better to give than receive!
On her 18th birthday, Demi Lovato revealed that she had just purchased a pad (a real one, not an iPad) for her whole fam as a surprise. How generous!
"For me to give [that] to my family on my birthday, that was the best present," she said of the L.A.-area home that comes with water slide near the pool. Perfect for little sis Madison de la Garza!
But Demi won't be left out in the cold: She'll stay in a house situated in the backyard (hope it's not a tree house).
"It's got pretty much everything you could possibly imagine in it. It's the most beautiful, homey-feeling house. I love it."

Happy Birthday Demi Lovato!

This Rocker never allowed herself to be tamed at all. this girl refuses to shed a single tear.... except in acting scenes. she even never dared to say "I quit"... she never even fought back at rumors but she fought back at life's trials and even took the blows.

this girl... evolved to be the best singer-actress she is now. her name is Demetria Devonne Lovato, aka Demi. and now, at age 18, she'll go even further. (no, not that further)

Who knew the girl who got a minor start alongside former BFF Selena Gomez at Barney and Friends will get a great career that will win the hearts of many? even though she experienced many trials that most, if not a few, girls that will emotionally break them up, she refused to say "you win" at life's trials. instead, she persevered, and in the end, slayed the big kaiju named "life's difficulty".

Prior to her appearance in As The Bell Rings, she was in select commercials, like the one for Worth the Wait, and a few months or years after As The Bell Rings, her breakout came in Camp Rock as Mitchie Torres. a year after, she got her own TV show in Sonny With A Chance as Sonny Munroe, and that same year, her first album came, titled "Don't Forget" in which she shows her music skills. her 2nd album, "Here We Go Again" was released. and her other DCOM, Princess Protection Program, came out that summer, where she played Rosalinda Maria Montoya Fiore.

This year she had a temporary relationship with Joe Jonas and Jemi (Joe+Demi) fans were happy about it, but the Joe Jonas Fangirls didn't like it at all. after 3 months, they broke off peacefully but no tears were shed. however they value their friendship above all, thus why the breakup was decent.

This year, as she turns 18 and ready rock out at full force, she will indeed show the world and her supporters and fans that THIS GIRL CAN ROCK.

Next month, you can catch her again with Joe as they reprise their roles of Mitchie and Shane respectively when Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam jams on September.

So hats off to you and keep rocking, Demetria! Happy 18th B-Day!

Here's a little reminiscing of their friendship in this clip: (this was preserved in other youtube users, this clip was removed in Demi's Youtube account)

KR OOO's episode 1 synopsis

Since the 12th Heisei Kamen Rider series, Kamen Rider OOO, will debut on September 5, we finally got the confirmed and detailed synopsis on Episode 1: "Aah, my tomorrow!".

From Otona Fami:
A young man, who has lost his underpants and job, finds a mysterious medal. A monster like arm called Ankh picks the medal up. Furthermore, a different monsters shows up and the hunt for medals starts. Ankh, who is in a huge disadvantage, asks Eiji Hino to transform into Kamen Rider OOO.

The one from Newtype:
Eiji Hino, who is working as a part-time in an art museum as a security guard, has been drugged by 2 thieves by putting sleeping pills in his juice. He felt sleepy and decided to go to the security office. He wakes up when something hits his head. He sees that it's a Hawk Medal, he doesn't pay much attention to it since he thinks this is his payment as a part-timer. He changes clothes and takes off his pants only to hang them on the wall.

Thoughts on Sentai's Later Added Rangers

Here are the extra rangers meant to add up the team members to five:

Soukichi Banba/Big One- In a team of four rangers, he became the fifth and their leader. He reappeared in Gaoranger vs. Super Sentai even if JAKQ had NO giant robot yet.

Junichi Aikawa/Green Rhino and Tetsuya Yano/Black Bison- They were extra rangers that came in together to create the Liveman team from three rangers to five rangers. The two were motivated by their desire for revenge only to discover that their real reason to fight was justice.

The Gouraigers Ikkou and Shishou functioned as two additional members. They were the first maroon and navy blue rangers. With a twist, these two started off as enemies and became friends in contrast to their Liveman equivalents. Shishou apparently had a relationship with Nanami.

Asuka of Dino Earth/Abare Black- He's the fourth member of the Abarangers and from Dino Earth. I find his love story with Mahoro to be an interesting theme. He later appeared in Boukenger vs. Super Sentai.

Mikoto Nakadai/Abare Killer- I see him as a more wicked version of Burai from Zyuranger. He was introduced as a villain, became a hero and DIED.

Gou Fukami/Geki Violet- The first violet ranger in history and brother to the blue ranger Retsu. Being a wolf, I felt like his story as a werewolf was inspired by Shirogane's.

Ken Hisatsu/Geki Chopper- He's the first ranger to ever not shave his facial hair.

While there were extra heroes but most of the did was simply add the number to five in the case of JAKQ and later Liveman, these ones went beyond five heroes. By the way, please don't complain X-1 Mask isn't here, I'm talking of the officially added ones. They are:

Burai/Dragon Ranger was the first. His the only Zyuranger I found more interesting than the others. So he's acted by Shiro Izumi who was previously Change Pegasus in Changeman. I like the way he went from darkness to light in five EPIC episodes I would dub as "Green with Evil". Sadly he had to die. :-(

Kou/Kiba Ranger- The child actor Hisashi Sakai played as Kibaranger. Before that, he played the younger Burai. He was a pervert. Fortunately though, he survived through the end. I wonder if he was supposed to become a means to attract a younger audience. Some viewed him as a gimmick character. Power Rangers fans later called him "Justin disgracing Tommy." Fortunately the actor didn't return in Carranger for the role of Blue Racer.

Riki/King Ranger- He is another quite young ranger but I assume he must be a teenager during this time. He's the first sixth ranger to be controlling the most powerful mecha and also the first to be the one from another time mixed with modern rangers. He also appeared in the non-canon Ohranger vs. Kakuranger movie (which I believe was a test film only).

Yuusuke Hayakawa- The first silver ranger but looks more of a white ranger to me. Hmmm... did Toei get the idea from the non-canon Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers The Movie which a child mentions of becoming the silver ranger?

Hyuga/Bull Black- I wonder if he counts. I felt like he's a tribute to Burai as he also died a tragic death and is the elder brother of the red ranger Ryouma.

Naoto/Time Fire- He was really cool and a determined hero. I hated the fact he had to be a non-leader red ranger type rather than giving him another color. I also hated the fact that he was killed by a zenitto which was LAME for me. However such incidents do happen in real life.

Shirogane/Gao Silver- He seems to combine the attributes of Burai with Riki/King Ranger. He was at first appearing as someone who had become the host body for Loki the wolf-demon and later joined the rangers. He was quite a loner but a pretty cool character. He had a fan-shipping with Sae Taiga too. In the Hurricanger vs. Gaoranger movie, sadly he left without saying a word.

Tetsu Aira/Deka Break- He's probably the first adult ranger to be less serious but funny how he and the more serious Hoji Tomasu can get along together. I think he's more arrogant than Hoji Tomasu in some way. Also, he's the first sixth ranger to dress up as a woman. His involvement in Gaoranger vs. Super Sentai shows how bad-ass he can be.

Hikaru/Magishine- I wonder if he counts thinking that Magiranger like Fiveman and Gogo V are sibling teams. He became the boyfriend and eventually the husband of Urara. In the Magiranger vs. Dekaranger movie, he and Tetsu became cross-dressers. He joins his in-laws for the final battle against N-Ma. He was later reunited with Tetsu in Boukenger vs. Super Sentai.

Eiji Takaoka/Bouken Silver- He's the first sixth ranger to be a hanyo- product of a demon and a human. For me, he has the most interesting back story in the list because he first fights the Ashu and ends up joining with other rangers who crossed swords with the Ashu who later became known as the Questers. I loved how he got involved in finding the rangers he needed to save the others namely Asuka/Abare Black, Tetsu/Deka Break, Nanami/Hurricane Blue and Tsubaza Ozu/Magiyellow in a very hilarious way in the Boukenger vs. Super Sentai crossover.

For Go-onger, sixth and seventh came in together. They were the twins Hiruto and Mio. Unlike the Go-ongers, these two were serious characters to balance the show's goofiness. They were dead serious that they didn't fit in at first and later were able to adjust to the team.

Genta Umemori/Shinken Gold- The only non-samurai member of the Shinkengers and underrated by some as he's not frequently shown with them in group pictures. He's an idiotic type character probably due to the fact his IQ is way higher than the rest, even more hyperactive than Gem and Gemma combined.

Goseiger 26: What's so funny, GoSeiger?

This episode is kind of more on the funny side... literally. So I think Hyde's blue color represents the blues, being gloomy since he's the only one not laughing. Eri is just adorable. :-P Here the evil Hitto of the Tengu seeks to remove laughter from the world.

For a wtf moment, Alata does some impersonations to give Hyde. This just worked as it attracted the monster and freed the others who were captured. I guess this episode shows blue for coolness and for gloominess as evidenced by Hyde.

Relation of X and Kogami Foundations

Connection Between Foundation X and Kogami Foundation
It is recently confirmed in the latest episode of Kamen Rider W, Episode 47: The Abandoned U/A Request From Philip, that there's a big connection between Foundation X and Kamen Rider OOO's Kogami Foundation.

According to the pic above, it is the Foundation X who created the Medals (Core and Cell Medals in the pic) for Kogami Foundation at a price of $43.25 Billion. This means that Foundation X is the one backing up and funding Kogami Foundation in creating Greeds and Yummies, like how they did with Kamen Rider W's Museum.

According to sources, this might be a hint that Kamen Rider W and OOO stands on the same world and timeline, far from the other Kamen Rider series.

Of Goranger and JAKQ's Inclusion in Super Sentai

Back to the past aren't we? It's time to remember how Goranger and JAKQ would have molded Super Sentai history from the time Shoutarou Ishinomori of Kamen Rider fame created them.

Goranger introduced the standard of a five team and was the first Sentai series. It had 84 episodes total. I heard it somewhere that Peggy was supposed to be a white ranger.

JAKQ was the second series and of high irregularity, maybe a model that wasn't so popular. It started with four members and then ended up with five, the additional member becomign the leader in the place of the red ranger, that is Big One the first white ranger. It was also that short- only 35 episodes, something that Sentai seems to frown upon but the concept of an additional ranger was used quite differently later.

Both series were not included as Super Sentai during the special opening of Turboranger for some reason. Was it because these two shows had no giant robots then? Maybe. Remembering Battle Fever J, that's when the term "super" was added into "sentai". So Turboranger without Goranger and JAKQ would only be the 11th anniversary and Turboranger was the last of the 80s. It would be 13 if they were counted that time.

Eventually in 1995, Goranger and JAKQ were included. Talk about TWENTY YEARS (Goranger ran from 1975-1977, JAKQ ran from 1977-1978) before it got counted and during that time, Ohranger would be the 19th series.

It was during the Timeranger special episode when Goranger and JAKQ were formally introduced through television as part of the Super Sentai franchise. Not to mention, Akaranger and Spade Ace made a cameo appearance in Gaoranger vs. Super Sentai with the past red rangers, fully recognizing these two earlier Super Sentai series as a part of the family... which is really good because without them, there would be no Super Sentai.

Thanks to Sean Akizuki's Sentai Blog for the commentary.
